Emily Simpson
Choreographer
Emily Simpson has been working with Bay Area eTc since 2018, choreographing The Wizard of Oz and Peter Pan, the pandemic-cancelled production of Mary Poppins, and Beauty and the Beast, as well as doing double duty of choreographing AND directing Newsies!, Descendants, and The Little Mermaid. Other choreography gigs on the Peninsula have included Bright Star at Coastal Rep and My Fair Lady at Pacifica Spindrift Players. Emily's love of dance started at Miss Tilley’s in San Francisco at age 3 and her penchant for the stage started with Sunshine Band at age 7. She has not looked back since!
When not on the artistic staff at Bay Area eTc, Emily participates in local theater productions – her favorite roles include “Brooke Ashton” (Noises Off!), “Little Red Headed Girl/Dance Captain” (You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown), “Essie” (You Can’t Take It With You), “Donna/Dance Captain” (The Brain from Planet X), and “Chorus Girl” (42nd Street).
Alongside Ms. Ria, she is the Co-Founder and Co-Program Director of the Bay Area eTc’s Young Adult Conservatory, a program dedicated to mentoring and developing high school and college students in all aspects of theater, including directing, choreography, tech design, costuming, stage managing, as well as on-stage. Emily looks forward to many more shows with her eTc family and cannot wait to continue to share her love for the stage and storytelling with participants young and young at heart.
